The Campus Ministries department fosters a welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds to explore their faith, minister to others, and connect with fellow believers. We aid students in the development of their spiritual gifts by providing unconditional love, encouragement and resources. As we walk with students during their spiritual journey, we want each student to have a transformational encounter with Jesus Christ. In all we do, we want Christ Jesus to be the center of our attention.

Chapel services are available to  students, faculty, staff and community members. Chapel typically consists of worship music led by our Praise Team followed by a message from either a student, faculty member, staff member or member of the community. Chapel is held every Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Fredrikson Chapel.

Praise Team is an opportunity for students to share their musical talents through worship at weekly Chapel.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes reaches out to our student-athletes by sponsoring activities and events. The group meets weekly to discuss God and how He has been working on campus, specifically within athletics. At each meeting, students typically fellowship through an activity and receive an encouraging message for the week. FCA meets on Wednesday nights in the Pelton Lounge.

Bible Studies are student-led and typically meet once per week. Currently, we have a Men's Bible Study and two Women's Bible Studies regularly meeting.

Peer Ministry Leadership (PML): Peer Ministry Leadership teaches students how to become relational leaders and how to minister to their peers. One weekend training is held at the beginning of each semester to discuss Listening, Helping and Welcoming in detail. Mini-sessions are held throughout each semester bi-weekly.

Braving Discipleship is a weekend event for High School Youth, coordinated and executed by Ottawa University students, faculty, and staff. This two day, one night conference gathers youth across the state of Kansas on the campus of Ottawa University to join in worship, fellowship, and the study of Christ. OU students have the opportunity to be a part of this weekend through planning, coordinating or ministering to high school students.

The Relationship Dinner is held annually during the week of Valentine’s Day. This catered meal is accompanied by a conversation and presentation about healthy relationships and what it means to have a Biblical relationship.

Escape is a retreat event for OU students to break away from campus to refresh and recommit. This event takes place once each semester.

Every year during Spring Break we take a Mission Trip. Last year we went to Houston, TX to help build homes for families who lost their homes in Hurricane Harvey.
